Natal Chart Reading: Jungkook of BTS

On Febuary 1st Jungkook happened to casually mention on his live Weverse chat that his birth time was either 3:23 or 3:25AM and as an ARMY and an astrologer this was one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in awhile. I’ve never really done a full chart reading for a celebrity before but I saw this as a personal learning experience that would hopefully help me practice becoming more experienced at reading charts and use it as a chance to hopefully learn something that could help me with someone else’s chart in the future.

As I always tell anyone I do a reading for, astrology should be treated as a “translation” that can be influenced by personal experience and interpretations so if I say something that doesn’t perfectly line up with another astrologer’s interpretation that doesn’t mean any one of us is wrong, it’s just our translations are just slightly different. (Also almost all of this is copy/pasted from my broken mess of thread on Twitter that I did so apologies in advance it tends to read like a Twitter thread at times!)

Being able to have Jungkook’s real birth time is such a vital bit of information when it comes to astrology. It allows astrologers to know his Rising/Ascendant sign, arguably the most crucial placement in anyone's chart. It is what sets the tone for the whole chart and allows us to know which placements are bringing the most impact. We now know that Jungkook is a Leo Rising which means his whole chart is ruled by the Sun. This gives him that instant warmth and generous energy that he is well-known for. Leos are kind and full of life when you first meet them and they genuinely want to take care of those around them. Leo Risings also take a lot of pride in the hardwork they achieve, especially if they're given lots of words of appreciation along the way. Leos don't always want the spotlight on them but they do enjoy words of affirmation & being valued by others.

Having Leo in his 1st House of self, identity, and how one approaches life, this tells me that Jungkook is possibly far more of a risk-taker than your normal Virgo and has no problem shaking things up just to bring back some life and light into the world around him. With his Moon -- the representation of how we express our emotions -- being in Leo in 1H as well tells me his emotions are very much intertwined with how he views himself — literally wears his heart on his sleeve and values when others do the same for him so he doesn't have to guess what they’re really thinking and not saying out loud. On the flip side, what this does is bring up a lot of anxieties about how other people view him and a fear of being over-exposed or misunderstood. Leos are especially harsh on themselves when they feel like they've made a mistake or have taken a direct hit to their pride.

When it comes to his 2nd House, it's all about what we value in life and what we value in others. This can mean how we spend our money, our relationship with our material possessions, but it also ties into our feelings of self-worth and security. Jungkook's is in Virgo and he has his Sun, Mercury, and North Node here.

Starting with his Sun, this reaffirms that incredibly caring and selfless nature he is well-known for. It makes him dependable and trustworthy. It also means he puts a lot of thought into what he buys/spends money on.

What this also means is he is not someone to deny himself certain pleasures in life that bring him joy. If it makes sense to his Virgo side but also brings him pleasure, Jungkook will not hesitate to acquire it. So it's no wonder how much good food and good company mean to him.

Virgo in the 2nd House means Jungkook is very responsible when it comes to his money. He can probably go months without spending beyond his basic needs. But like I said, if it brings him pleasure he will buy it. This is why he was fine with a rolled up towel as a pillow but also does this:

With his Mercury being in this placement as well and conjunct his Sun, it reiterates how important good conversation means to Jungkook. Virgos appreciate when things are practical. He probably doesn't tolerate anyone that refuses to speak to him openly and honestly. This placement also gives him a quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor which may accidentally get him in trouble at times. His Mercury is squared Mars which can cause him to have regrets about what he said off the cuff and wishing he had said something different or better at the time.

His Mercury is also squared his Pluto which gives him the ability to have no issues speaking up for himself but it can also lead to him having very strong opinions about things that others will be unable to sway him from. No matter what though, he has no issues taking matters into his own hands. (i.e. I highly doubt any claims from solos/mantis that try to say Jungkook needs protection from BH/HYBE or that he's being controlled in anyway. Jungkook follows directions out of mutual respect and when he knows it's in his/the group's best interest. He is not easily someone pushed over.)

Next up is one of my favorite things when reading anyone's chart: the North Node. For me this is the biggest indicator of what anyone's destiny is and what path they need to focus on to feel truly fulfilled and happy in life. For Jungkook, it's an amazing placement to have. Having his North Node in Virgo, it is important that he not allow himself to be emotionally lead on by anyone or feel like he needs to martyr himself in any way. Virgo in North Node is all about taking a stand for yourself and the morals you believe in.

With it being in his 2H I can tell already that he is going to have to put a lot of focus on the security of not only himself personally but also around the words he speaks. There is a lot of anxiety about disappointing others when it comes to this placement. There is a deep-seated fear of not being able to offer another person the perfect words or perfect relationship. They put a lot of unnecessary pressure on themselves and hold themselves to impossibly high standards. There is no ceiling or goalpost to be met -- just pure perfection.

This can mean he will always be working towards something in his mind but he needs to make sure he is doing it not because he thinks the world expects it of him, but that it is something he truly wants for himself and is healthy for him mentally and emotionally as well. He has already started moving in this direction over the last several years but that need for perfection is always going to weigh Jungkook down as he grows older. It is a heavy weight that is difficult to shed but I have no doubt in my mind he will find a sense of balance one day just based off everything else I see on his birth chart.

His next house is the 3rd House which is all about communication! Logic! Intellect! Jungkook having Libra here is just beautiful and wonderful. It means he has a natural ability to calm others down and can sometimes be the mediator of his group of friends/family. Libras seek out balance and harmony -- they much prefer the easy-going vibes than being around people that purposely cause drama/chaos. This also means that he is most likely always weighing the pros and cons and is not someone that likes to actively start conflict with others, preferring to allow his frustrations to bottle up than start an argument that he may see as not necessary for the moment. It doesn't mean he won't speak his mind by any means, but that he feels there is a time and place for certain things to be said. He is not someone that is going to fly off the handle about things but will instead sit with his feelings until he's figured out exactly what it is that is bothering him and can properly articulate it.

Jungkook also has his Venus here which is comfortably at home in Libra. This seriously brings his hopeless romantic side to the forefront. It is not surprising to me at all that he expects to hear bells the moment he meets his soulmate.

This can cause him to become very picky when it comes to any potential future partner as Libras are known for formulating high expectations on what love looks like in their life which can easily fall into the realm of becoming unrealistic/impossible to find. Luckily, I don't think Jungkook is going to have any difficulties in finding love in his life as he is astrologically blessed to be surrounded by it in many ways. His Venus is trine Jupiter, the planet of expansion and luck. He just has to make sure he doesn't try to convince himself that he isn't worthy of the love that is being sent his way. His Venus is squared Saturn, the planet of reservations and restrictions. So when love comes his way he is sometimes his biggest obstacle and needs to learn how to stand out of his own way.

Jungkook's 4th House is in water sign Scoprio and he has his Mars comfortably here as well. Scorpios value having a sense of control and security so this is a great placement for Jungkook. It puts a strong emphasis on how important his privacy and comfort is for his mental state. Everything Jungkook decides to share with the world has most likely been thought out and is not by accident. It can also make it fairly common for him to go radio-silent for a long period of time. Not to mention, it can cause him to be extremely possessive in many ways.

With his Mars -- the planet of passion and ambition -- being here in Scorpio as well tells me when that once he has his mind set on something almost nothing can stand in his way. Scorpio is the sign of power and it doesn't like losing that power at all. A Scorpio Mars will go to any lengths to get any task done that they have set out to achieve. This can sometimes cause them to neglect other areas in their lives or make them appear selfish in a lot ways. Above all though, it makes him an exceptional motivator to anyone around him. People can't help but be inspired by him.

For his 5th House, the house of creativity, self-expression, and what in general lights you up inside, is in the adventurous and independent sign of Sagittarius. This gives Jungkook that fun-loving and natural curiosity of the world he is famous for. He literally wants to experience as much as the world is willing to offer him. Anyone or anything that tries to box him in or minimize his potential in any way is going to be met with a ton of opposition.

The next house is his 6th House in Capricorn, the sign of discipline, tradition, and the importance of being patient. The 6H represents our work ethic and how we tend to nurture the things in our lives that feel like obligations or the things we tend to neglect within our daily lives the most. What this tells me about Jungkook is that he not only takes his work very seriously but that he has a sense of responsibility around it as well that affects him on a much deeper and personal level. People with this placement tend to overexert themselves when it comes to their career a lot, even at the expense of their own health many times. His Neptune is here as well so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets caught up in the minor details of his everyday life which is why he may have a meticulous routine in regards to several things in his life, not just his career.

The 6H also represents how we are of service to others so it is no surprise to me that his relentless hard work within his career is how he has decided to use his natural talents and gifts to bring others joy in the world and why he is so passionate and diligent about it. His Neptune is also opposite his Rising sign which tells me he is easily influenced by the people he surrounds himself with and may unconsciously take on pieces of their personalities as his own in many ways which is why it is important he is with good and grounded individuals.

For his 7th House, it is what represents our "Descendant", or the side of ourselves we don't tend to outwardly express and will seek out in other people. It's usually associated with marriage but it can be any kind of long-term relationship with anyone. This is where the heart of BTS is for Jungkook I think.

His 7H is in the sign of Aquarius, the sign that is known for innovation, progression, and creating friendships/community. Having this placement tells me how vital his friendships are to him and how he needs friends that are constantly and emotionally supporting him. He also needs people around him that understand him for all his quirks and intricacies. 7H Aquarians need their support system but also their freedom to be as independent as they wish to be at any given time. It takes them awhile to feel comfortable being emotionally vulnerable so they may purposely isolate themselves as a result. This can also lead to possibly not devoting himself to any kind of romantic relationship until much later in life as 7H Aquarians tend to want to take their time and really think things through before committing to one person. This can cause them to feel lonely a lot of times or as if they’re missing some vital piece of information that everyone else around them has somehow already figured out.

Jungkook has his Jupiter and Uranus in this placement as well. It makes him the quintessential Gen-Zer with how he values the truth and doesn't have time for any kind of superficialities in the world. Jupiter being here will make him far more revolutionary than others as he will not shy away from causing a little bit of rebellion here and there to push against societal norms or things he seems to see as outdated and too constricting. This is why he has historically been known to wearing clothing from brands that actively are against traditional gender norms and social constructs that try to push people into labels and boxes that aren’t equal or fair to the masses. Jupiter in Aquarius does not like to be told they need to bend to the will of corporations or institutions that exploit and harm others and sees no issue vocalizing their opinions on this.

With his 8th House, although it is empty with no planets in it, it still impacts his personality in a lot of ways — and having it in Pisces is quite the impact as well. An 8H Pisces is usually very aware of the fact that not everything in life is permanent and that things can change quite rapidly. Jungkook has probably had to learn very early on in his life how brutal the feeling of loss feels like and has had to learn how to adapt his way of thinking as a result. He has been quite vocal in the past about his feeling of loss when it comes to his childhood but there are probably even more and deeper events that he has experienced as he was growing up that forever altered his way of viewing the world. Because of this it will cause him to be even more selective about what parts of himself he shows to the world and what parts of himself he will fiercely protect.

Onto the 9th House, the house of what we like to learn or we want to expand our awareness on things. With Jungkook having his Aries here along with his Midheaven and Saturn, it is absolutely no wonder he has gained the fame he has right now. Having a 9H Aries gives him the natural ability to not only go for but successfully accomplish any thing in his life. If it's new and exciting to Jungkook then it will have his full attention until he feels like he has learned and experienced whatever it may be to the fullest. He is absolutely dedicated and determined to accomplishing his goals and any responsibility given to him. New adventures and challenges give him that child-like curiosity with boundless courage. He is like a sponge when he is thirsty for information but also quick on his feet when there are situations for him to do some quick problem solving.

With his Saturn being in Aries, this can be a challenging placement to have as it it will want him to continue to evolve through many phases of his life. Aries is all about venturing into the unknown frontier to conquer it while Saturn is there to put up restrictions and roadblocks, to teach us the life-lessons that force us to take things at a slower pace with a more critical eye. As one can assume, these two energies tend to clash a lot of the times causing a lot of tension. For Jungkook, having this in his 9th house along with his Midheaven, it will bring a lot of internal questioning about who he is and trying to learn through trial and error the best version he can be, especially with it so closely tied in with his career. It will want to team up with his Virgo energy to force him to be analytical and methodical when it comes to what he is learning and how he is expressing that knowledge to the those around him or the world at large.

Now, usually most people have their Midheaven in the 10th House of career and reputation but Jungkook has his in the 9H instead. It shows that he is not meant to take a conventional career path or when it comes to what he is known for in this life. He will want to be someone that inspires and teaches others about the life lessons he learns throughout his journey of growing up. With his being in Aries as well shows how he is meant to be someone that is willing to push through any obstacles or societal barriers people try to put in his way. He is also meant to be his most honest and authentic self throughout all of this as well. He will not be able to tolerate anything that doesn't fit into his world view or align with his passions. He doesn't want to be known as someone that is just famous, he wants to be known for the passion he had throughout all of it.

In his 10th House, he has Taurus, the sign of affection, stability, and stubbornness. Having his house of career and reputation in this sign tells me he will always be financially stable and has almost no risk of falling into debt. He will also stick with his career for as long as it is something that remains stable and brings him pleasure. Once he grows bored though or feels inspirationally drained, he may move onto something else.

His 11th House is in Gemini which tells me no matter which direction BTS go in, he will always find enjoyment out of collaborations or networking with different people to see where he can take his artistic abilities. As long as it peaks his interest, he won't mind taking a leap of faith.

Lastly his 12th House is in the emotional and nurturing sign of Cancer. The 12H represents that which is hidden from us and what we may tend to grapple with throughout our entire life. Having Cancer here reiterates that theme of Jungkook not wanting to show people the deeper parts of himself or even the parts he even hides from himself. Cancers are known for putting up a strong exterior to protect their innermost sensitive and emotional parts. What this could mean for Jungkook is he struggles with being openly vulnerable in a lot of ways in different vacates of his life. He probably wants to be emotionally open with others but always overthinks it or pulls himself up short at the last moment. When he is able to be open with his feelings it may feel both cathartic but too raw at times which can linger for days. I think this is why when Jungkook does open up emotionally with BTS or ARMY it tends to leave such an impression on all of us. When he is able to be open and vulnerable it's incredibly meaningful not only for others but for himself as well. It’s why I am so happy to see him becoming more self aware about this lately and willing to be more open with others but most importantly himself.

All in all, as we all are fully aware, Jungkook is incredibly talented and unique and has been naturally born with so many gifts. But looking at his chart it is abundantly evident that he has worked incredibly hard for all those achievements and puts a lot of pressure on himself in the process as well. He is meticulous and methodical but also incredibly solid in his own personal values and what he is willing to fight for in his life. He is caring and selfless in so many ways as well and absolutely no single part in his chart is their an ounce of deceit or him being disingenuous.

Reading his chart renewed my sense of hope and faith in him as not only an artist but as a person in general. His birth chart is the blue print of how to embrace every moment in life to the fullest while also being a good and kind person to others as well.
